I couldn’t be more excited about this week’s episode. Like many of you, I have the utmost respect and appreciation for the ministry of Paul Baloche. As a teenager, he was one of the first “worship leaders” I ever had contact with and I have no doubt that his particular influence has built health into my own ministry.
Paul was free with his time and gracious with his wisdom and I hope you came away from this week’s episode the same way I did – excited to be a worship leader! If you haven’t heard it yet, head over to iTunes and check it out.
For the recap today, there are a few things that Paul mentioned that were great “take-aways” for worship leaders and songwriters.
- ON SONGWRITING – a second verse doesn’t need to be a whole new line of thought. It can simply be a shift in “person” or Biblical underpinning for what’s been said in the previous song sections.
- ON MENTORING – sharing what we’ve learned with others cements that knowledge in our own ministry. Consistent teaching will reveal what philosophies stand the test of time.
- ON INTENTION – worship leading and songwriting don’t just happen. Being intentional with your words and concepts benefits the whole body.
